Thank you for your

this community. Here are answers to some frequently asked
questions on membership to get you started. Please
contact us or
Lions Club International for more
information.
Who can be a Lions Club member? Lions Club membership is open to everyone
18 years of age or older. Lions membership is open to men and
women of any background or race. We are looking for anyone from
business and community leaders to plumbers, secretaries and sales
clerks. Everyone is welcome and everyone has something to offer as
well as something to gain by membership.
In other words.... We're
Looking for You!
What does it cost to be a Lions Club Member? Each Lions Club sets their monthly dues and can
vary from club to club. The Waycross Lions Club membership dues
are $30.00 per month. Actual membership cost is much smaller than
this when you attend the weekly meetings, you also get a terrific lunch
provided by Ole Times Country Buffet. So, if you consider four
weekly meals at $5.49 + $1.39 for your drink = $27.52, then actual
membership is really only about $2.50 a month!
How can I become a Lions club member? Membership in a Lions club may be attained by invitation only and
the standards are reasonably high and limited to persons of good moral
character and reputation. The completion of the Lions Clubs
International Membership Application does not imply or guarantee that a
Lions club will invite a candidate to join the club. A current Lions
club member must sponsor a candidate and the club reserves the right to
deny approval for membership.
This application is not valid unless approved and
signed by the sponsoring Lion, the local club secretary, the local club
membership sponsoring Lion, the local club secretary, the local club
membership committee chairperson, and an officer of the local club's
board of directors. The completed application must be given to the
sponsoring Lion to present to the local Lions club.
Please
consider your visit here today as your official invitation to become a
member of our family. Just drop by one of our weekly meetings on
most every Monday at 1:00 PM at Ole Times Country Buffet on Memorial
Drive next to Wal-Mart. Just tell them at the main counter that
you are with the Lions Club, and come on back to the Banquet room.
You can sit in on a Lions Club meeting to get an idea of what it's all
about and have any questions you may have answered. You can also
enjoy a terrific meal on us. If you're still not sure, you are
welcome to come back for a couple more visits on us before making your
decision. We would love to have you're help as "We Serve" in this
community.
What is a Lions club? A Lions club is a group that comes together and shares a common
interest in community service, supporting the Lions motto "We
Serve." There is more than one type of Lions club; and one or more
may exist in your community. For example, one Lions club may meet at
noon and another in the evening; or there may be a college campus club.
